Holly & Lily

“My wife and I wanted to have a portrait painted of our beautiful Boxer Holly and after a long photographic  session we chose a nice head pose. Lorna used soft pastel to produce a wonderful portrait of Holly showing her lively character and her unique colour. We are delighted with this portrait as it is a very accurate image of Holly.

We asked Lorna to paint our new rescue Terrier Lily and this is an equally beautiful portrait.

Thank you very much Lorna.”

Jools

“Thank you. You captured the very heart of our Jools! We have our girl back home.

We really don’t know how to thank you conveniently, as there are no words. Both Eric and I were gobsmacked when we opened your so carefully wrapped art work

And the prep drawings that accompanied the painting is also so very appreciated…Wow!!! That eye is incredible, it sparkles, it makes her entire head lively…she’s talking to us, just like she used to do. Cried my eyes out of course. Even when I type these words, tears are running

We also realise you spoiled us rotten: the varnish, the prep drawings and all. We are just over the moon, it is the most precious item in the house.”

This is Rosie, she was born in Ireland on 13th May 1994. She grew up in the Netherlands in a family with Father and Mother and three children. She was a wonderful and smart dog. We do miss her a lot.

Lorna Keegan has painted her exactly as her character in September 2006 in France. I am very happy with it. Therefor we can see her every day in the portrait.

Snoop

Dear Lorna,

We received a beautiful painting of our beloved dog Snoop from my mother-in-law. The likeness is uncanny, it is the double of him and so well done. It takes pride of place in our hallway and everyone comments on what a beautiful and accurate depiction it is of our boy. Thankyou for the painting, we will treasure it forever.

Soloman

Soloman was an unusual cat who loved snow, so the artist’s son asked for a good portrait, tiptoeing in from the snow covered garden. So he was Duly painted in Oils and we are all very pleased with his portrait.

No longer with us, Soloman is still treading snow in the Artist’s studio.

Tabby

What a lovely portrait of my darling Tabby, you really have done us proud. Photographs are all well and fair, but your portrait feels a lot more alive than a photo. I look at it and expect to hear him purring. This portrait will have the story of Tabby attached to the back with the humorous stories of his exploits and will be handed down through the generations as only portraits and stories can be in the family.

Favourite Cattle and the Knockmealdowns

I commissioned Lorna to paint a Portrait of three of my favourite cattle – Old Blue, The Panther, The Panther’s Mother and, of course, my two working Collies, against the beautiful Knockmealdown Mountains in Tipperary.
We spent a lovely sunny day taking many photographs of the cattle in the field and also of the girls going in to be milked.
When Lorna arrived with the finished Portrait which she painted in oils, I was so pleased with it, I said “everything I expected and more…..”
The Portrait is now hanging in our farmhouse kitchen where my Mam and I can see it every day.  Thank you Lorna
